Introduction:
I'm 21 years old, living in New York with my step mom, dad, 3 brothers (19, 16, 7) and younger sister (14). I have two older sisters, one who is 27 (never met before), and the second one is 24 and she's my best friend. I am half-Pakistani and half-Russian, but I'm more Pakistani considering that's all I grew up with. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and have been living here ever since. As you can tell from my user name, my name is Sabriya, affectionately known as Bree or Riya by friends and fam. For those who've never heard of it before, yes, it's a Muslim name... no I didn't spell SAbrina wrong, and it means patience, and perseverance.
I love kids, long walks in the evening, late nights, early mornings, and family. I hate rain and parks because of something that happened in my past.I'm a normal girl, like to have fun, spend quality time with family, and argue a lot with ignorant people. Like most people, I did dream of getting married one day, but that is a dream shattered, and I plan to spend my life doing anything to help out people and make a difference in their life. I don't like liars (who does?), especially because I tend to take everything at face value and end up getting hurt (nice gals always finish last )... but whatever, that's life.
I'm very trustworthy and caring, so you can always depend on me to be there for you, and to accept you with all your faults. I do my best not to be judgmental, as Allah knows I too have sins the size of mountains.
I'm a very understanding person, and I like to help anyone and everyone that I can. I believe my role in this little world of ours is to make any contribution, big or small, to the betterment of society.
Education:
I'm currently in my 3rd year of college majoring in psychology with a concentration in education. Hope to further my education hopefully gonna transfer to John Jay next semester so I could be a criminal psychologist, psych teacher, or law teacher, or a mix of all these hehe. I'm still undecided, just know that its gonna involve counseling, law, and/or psychology
Professional Experience: I have worked at Macy's, CVS, photodeveloping, and as a teacher's aide.
Hobbies:
Calling family around the world, surfing and chatting on the net, spending time with my favorite little brother Janan, chilling with friends, listening to sad songs, cooking, and smoking sheesha
Extracurricular activities:
Teaching the Quran pak to my little brother and neighbors, taking care of my aging babushka, and helping local teenagers tough out their problems by giving helpful advice.
Additional:
My motto in life is to forgive and forget. I make it a point to forgive everyone for whatever they've done before I fall asleep. I don't believe in holding grudges against anyone. We're human, we make mistakes.
I'm also part of the whole breast cancer awareness program, proud to say I've participated in the walk for the past 3 years
