Thanks for the description Lusi. I remember I did try tie and dye in an art class once, when I was like 10, so I do remember a bit but not much.
Battic I believe, is drawing on a cloth, then covering certain areas with wax, then dipping into color, then applying wax to other areas and dipping into color again. I guess the wax keeps the color out.
I guess it is called Batik. It's a wax-resist dyeing technique. It's one of the national arts of Indonesia.
