In the excitement of ramadan, we tend to fill ourselves with fried and sugary foods that end up tiring us and making us feel bloated and gassy.

Here are some issues we commonly face:

Indigestion
Caused by excessive eating, fried, fatty and spicy foods as well as sodas. Pakoras are yummy but keep spices to a minimum, shallow fry when possible.

Constipation
Caused by eating too many processed foods and not enough fiber or water consumption. Fiber rich foods include most cereal grains, fruits and vegetables. Add frruit salad/chaat to your iftaari as a regular dish. Khajoor have excellent fiber and so do cholay, etc.

Lethargy
Due to low blood pressure which can be caused by a sudden excessive consumption of heavy starchy and fatty foods.

Headache
Caused by lack of sleep and being overly physically active. Also can be caused by caffiene deficiency. Body adjusts with time.

Muscle cramps
Due to an inadequate intake of calcium, magnesium and potassium. Take lassi, dahi, add bananas to your fruit chaat.
