You're right about both musharraf and zardari wanting iftikar out. No deal is rqd for that.
The only other power ctr who can harm zardari in the short term is kiyani. And kiyani likely wants to make sure musharraf is unharmed and in return provides a certain amt of breating space for zardari. Again, I don't think any "dirty" laundry needs to exist here.
The above two ensure no prosecution and no coup in the short term.
Problem will start after zardari officially becomes prez. He won't be able to resist underminig kiyani either thru isi or even some other senior militios.
Nawas can be a major pain in his rear but that's all he will be I think
All this assuming zardari's dementia was faked
