hey if you accept that basis as an acceptable reason for the creation of pakistan - then this demand is entirely similar. opposing it on this basis is just hypocrisy.

however, as the people are spread out across the country (whatever their percentage of population may be) and unlikely to want to move away from their jobs and homes, the point is moot.

The statement is made to highlight the fact that the pakistanis are not acting in a very muslim manner of protecting its minorities - and thereby derogating one of the fundamental principles for the creation of the state of pakistan.

I doubt there is anyone here who can dispute the fact that the recent fate of the christian community has been bleak. churches being burnt by stupid illiterate of fundamentalistic mobs. I can totally understand the guys concerns - if you can guarantee safety and religious freedom to the christian minority - then they are better off handling those issues themselves.

After all - thats why we had the two nation theory.
