Be it either for girls or boys i feel names really have an effect on child thus we can choose any name among Prophets, companions of Prophet Mohammed(pbuh), pious women, wifes or daughters of prophets, women martyrs.
If we are expecting a baby boy and then we are blessed with a baby girl then i would like to name her as Maryam. Since wife of Imran was expecting a baby boy but Allah(swt) blessed with a baby girl and was named maryam
