Asexual reproduction can be disadvantageous because:
Genetic diseases present in parent will be passed on to the offspring and lower their chance of survival.
In case environmental factors change, organisms who are a result of asexual reproduction may not be able to adapt to them and their whole species is at risk of being wiped out. Sexual reproduction provides a variety in genes so if the environment works against organisms, some may be able to adapt to the changes in the environment due to the variation in traits and genes
