The verdict is:

Rebel unlock turbo sim worked like a charm.

Cost: $11.99 (Using it right now, and have seen no faults/defects in functions of the phone either)

Also tried Gevey Turbo Plus2 unlock sim, but it didn't work at all. The phone failed to recognize simcard (as would be the case with a locked iphone).
