My friend in Wapda told me that Installed capacity of Power Generation is 18000 MW & Peak demand is of 14000 MW. So why are we subject to severe loadshedding?
Arguments
1. There is a massive circular debt and govt does not have money to pay IPPs for electricity purchased and they mostly stay off the grid. (but the capacity payment is almost 60% of the electricity purchase price which invariably has to be paid when we are not buying electricity but this cannot be recovered from users! what a shame)
2. There are serious management issues with Raja Sahab's ministry. According to internal office order any purchase over 2 crore is to be cleared from ministry while rules empower Chairman any purchase up to a billion. There are 40 + touts of Raja sahab who get signatures or NOC for purchases with commission! what a shame
3. IPPs always like capacity payment because that is their profit and rest is consumed in generation cost and machinery life is saved. They are bribing Raja Sahab and senior officials to avoid generation and save equipment and maintenance costs! what a shame
4. Rental power agreements signed are at around Rs 19 per KWh where as this electricity will be sold to consumers at around Rs 27 per KWh against current average of Rs 9 per KWh. Can we pay? These agreements are not required as we still have surplus generation capacity! what a shame
PPP govt is minting money at the cost of federation like it did in past two stints and no body is complaining. All politicians have joined hand to take chunks from pie. appalling
