Well, usually someone is older. It's rare to find two people born at the exact same millisecond.

It wouldn't be strange.....my sister-in-law married someone like 12 years older....
But think it'll be strange if it's like 60 marries a 20 la.

its reasonable for a man to be older but a woman older than the man?
i dont like it.
(i mean girls mature earlier than guys so they need the guy to be older for him to be on a level with her mentally)

I don't know, although I can't quite imagine myself being with someone who is more then like 5/6 years older, I still think theres more to a person then their age. I mean, theres an age gap of 13 years between my mum and dad and Mash'Allah it's never been a problem for them. Dad is older then mum.. and I think they get on sooo well because of their different personalities. Dad is more patient, tolerable and probably the quieter one - whereas mum is kind of the opposite.. they make a great match. Also, dad has always been a lot more active with us kids, so I never have really found him to be "much older" then mum.

I have seen couples with major age differences that get along just fine. Then there are those that don't. Just as there are breakups with couples closer to each other's age, there are breakups with older ones. I think we just tend to focus more on the older ones because a), we already put them under a microscope because of this obvious age concern and b), if they have problems, we seem to believe we know the reason....! --- Age difference.
Couples need to be mentally compatible and if that means people closer to their age get along better, that simply has to do with the fact that similar age groups have more in common. That is why there are separate housing communities for people 55+, that is the reason all first graders belong in the same class. And when sometimes, a child is too mature and a fast learner, they promote him/her to a higher grade. Similarly, people who feel more comfortable with people older than them, gravitate towards older partners.

i dont think age is a big factor for two people if they are compatible with each other.if the two's maturity levels are the same, then that's what matters.
