So I was trying to find out how many Pakistanis become US citizens every year and landed upon these statistics
DHS | Yearbook of Immigration Statistics: 2008
The actual data:
http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/s...8/table21d.xls
Interesting numbers. In 2007, ~11,000 people who were born in Pakistan became US citizens. The number has ranged between 6000 - 9000 since 1999.
People from India becoming citizens in 2007 were even more than China, and the whole of Africa. The number is 65,971.
Mexico had 231,000 people become citizens. That's not really surprising.
One surprising number was UAE. Maybe these statistics are a bit flawed since they are counting people based on their country of birth. The number of people becoming citizens who were born in UAE probably includes the children of foreign nationals who were born there but aren't UAE citizens. In 2007, 328 people born in UAE became citizens.
