Our inner Man/women wants to perform differntly what we actually are.

I think most of us are different online than in the real world. We tend to express things much more strongly than we'd do in real life. While courting online, we tend to pose as much better than we actually are

It is probably because of minimal cost of violating social contracts in online settings.
