Picked it up at 10 this morning, first person in the store, waited for so long, the staff thought i was a crazy person waiting to loot something. Rushed in picked it up brought it home, hooked it up, played it for hours!!
And here I am taking a break...I have to say, this is the most exhilirating game oft he series!!! Amazing gameplay, beautiful graphics, it leaves all other gaming titles in the dust.
Not meant for a ****box or an average dumbfounded gamer. this game requires patience, skill, strategic planning, and tons more as you battle your way through some really tough AI! (dont play on easy mode!)
Overall, so far, I'm giving this a 9/10 on the story, 10/10 on the presentation and graphics, 9/10 on the game play! i love the new camo, and love the many CQC tactics available for me to use on those PMCs!
Still have to try MGO though, anyone here have it, maybe we can hook up and kill each other online

I thought the series ended with MGS on the PS2, when they figure out that nothing is real, the whole world is a computer simulation. The story turned into Matrix. It was the one with Raiden in it.

Is it possible to give a game an 11? If so, this would be the game that would merit that score. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a title that exceeds all of the hype that was attached to the title. Regardless of whether you've seen every trailer and screenshot, read every preview and heard every interview, you won't get a full sense of how phenomenal this title is unless you sit down and experience it for yourself. Legends die hard and deserve a heroic story that lives on when they are gone. Metal Gear Solid 4 is such an ending for the legendary warrior Solid Snake. Not only does it sum up the full franchise of Metal Gear, its depth and its complexity, coupled with its technical prowess, make it one of the best games of the year and, indeed, one of the best games ever made. Get some well earned rest, Snake. You've earned it. We salute you.

If the story-heavy presentation of previous Metal Gear games taxed your patience, Metal Gear Solid 4 won't change your mind. For anyone who appreciates games that rise above the simple act of pushing a few buttons and pulling a few triggers, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a stimulating ride that you won't soon forget. You'll want to see what happens next, yet when its long campaign draws to a close, you'll wish it would continue. That's not just because it's a well-told tale, but because that tale is woven through a thoroughly impressive game that tops its predecessors.

I dont think anygame can come close to the caliber of the MGS series. and MGS4 just took the crown, and will remain the king for a long long time. Hideo should be given a Nobel prize, Honestly.
THe Playstation 1 MGS was better than GTA4. GTA 4 programming and graphics wise isn't that difficult to do, GTA3 established that. Nothing revolutionary there.
However with MGS4, its a revolution in game design, with REAL time cinematics, and gameplay which surpasses any game i've seen today.
Its the only game I can play again and again, and the results, as well as the gameplay, will be different!
