Pakistaan government put ban on food for guests

what the hell is this? It was on the prime news

why is the pak government such a pain in the *ss
Instead of going after people who havent paid taxes since they day they were born , the government makes stupid plans like this.

So what are the options if one still wants to have dinner on weddigs and stuff?

Simple, book a hall/hotel and tell'em some rich uncle of yours is throwing you a (wedding) party.

It's not like you're gonna have police or govt. present at the hall/hotel to prosecute you.

I believe someone in my family has done that in Pakistan some years ago. Nothing happened.

true dutchie, i am mixed over this new law though? ok those muchars who give massive walima's to show of their wealth r at fault but u can't really think all will do that with the same intention? for most it's a happy once in a life time occassion and u want to enjoy urself, they the law makers obviously didn't think about it to closely, before passing the act. but the senior judge said "in doors" is ok

But it can really help thoese poor , "safaid poosh" or middle class "tabqa" that really can't afford to spend thousands even lakhs of rupees in "majbori" ..

but you can still throw a dinner party they are not going to throw u in jail.. so atleast you still have opption .. not end of the world :-|

I recently got married in Lahore,

well the rules are here

for dulhan.

under 300 and serve only hot or cold drinks. declare that waleema if you really want food. or some wedding halls has some deals they also offer dinner too.

for my own guests I arranged food at my home after barat and thats allowed

For my walima etc:

guest number under 300 can be served with full dinner!

for over300 it has to be one dish.

hey just dine out with your family later, law is good for alot of people who cannot afford this and our consequently often robbed of their dignity because the khana wasnt whadiya. girl has to put up with comments and some people go over the board, falto rasum thi, good riddance

i thought lahore mein court se stay order mil gya tha and lahoris r allowed to serve food at weddings?

waise bhee this is the so called "rule" but everyone is still serving food...thru some excuse..booking a nearby hall under some other pretext and serving food there...or serving food at the house...

this rule is just on paper..
