Hi everyone,

OK, up till last semester, I have wasted tens of hundreds of dollars on new text books partly because I have always been skeptical whether online sellers are genuine or not. Anyway, I'm contemplating buying used/new texts books online but would like to ask a couple of questions.

1) Which websites should I browse for text books and how long it usually takes for the shipment to get here? Also share if you had any bad experience while buying books online.

2) I also have my old text books piled up in my room. Are there any book store/websites where I can put them up for sale? I'd donate them to a library if nothing else comes up but would prefer selling them at this point of time when I'm a student and would buy new books if I get some cash by selling my used ones.

check out this thread for websites for textbooks

Used/Cheap Book Websites

i found campusi.com really helpful as it could give me a quick comparison of books and websites.

one thing to keep in mind is the seller's reputation, especially if you are buying books on ebay. the better the feedback, the less likely that your book will "get lost in transit". usually amazon or sellers on amazon are very good. i live in canada and most of my books have come from american sellers, and the time for shipment pretty much varies. the fastest for me was 1 week, the slowest was like 3-4 weeks. also, don't forget to factor in the shipment price when ordering books, because the book could be for 9.99, and the shipment could be for 24.00

www.ebay.com , u could buy/ sell directly from there or go to websites & seller stores over there , www.amazon.com is good too ................ i never buy new books from stores , always prefer to go online do some search & than place order , shipment takes atleast 7-10 days if u pay ordinary shipping fee & less if u pay overnight shipping

Me and my husband have bought quite a few books online....both used and new and so far haven't had any bad experiences....

try this site cheapestbookprice.com

and search with either one of the options and it will give a list of all available options....

hope that helps...

amazon.com is the best seller for all used and new books.
They ship within couple of days.

I dunno abt other websites, but I have been using amazon for the past 4 semesters now. Its wayyyyyy cheaper & reliable. Sometimes u can actually find a new book for less price than a used one. U basically have to search for the book & then see how many sellers have listed the book. All sellers are rated by actual buyers so no worries. Shipping time depends on how much u r willing to pay. Sometimes u can get it the very next day.
