Everyone, you must be aware of a huge number of stores that are getting closed day by day under the prevailing economic conditions. I anticipate that this trend will go on as I dont see any traces of ending up this economic turmoil.
So people like me usually keep an eye on such stores so as to get things on good discount that we usually dont buy on the normal prices.
Can we keep a track of such stores here?
Starting from me, umm.. circuit city is already done on sunday, everybody knows. But I wasnt aware that the OFFICEMAX is also getting closed. I visited them last week and they have very few things left. Having a good discount here!
Who next?
Go Yankees!

^there is no way that can be possible. they are too big a company, plus they have Old Navy and Banana Republic under their wing. I heard rumours about this but thats about it.

Gap has been in trouble for a long time now, so I wouldn't be surprised if they went under.
If you're in NY, then you'll know that Fortunoff is also going out of business.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I went there today during my lunch break just to browse. It's not like they offer really good prices on things. But depending on what you consider good stuff, they're starting with small discounts now. Small electronics and houseware items are 10% off. Gold jewelery and pearls are also 20% off. So right now just the beginning phase of clearances. Everything is still in stock and the discounts are still small. I think later prices will get better (lower), but of course, the good stuff will be gone too.

^ yikes! for once malls and department stores are actually empty, our mall was a total beehive of activity on weekends, now you can leisurely stroll around without bumping into ppl every few steps.

Yesterday I was wandering around the hardware malls and got surprised to see EXPO with the banner "SALE to close" ..
The only problem is, EXPO is so costly (amazing stuff though) that even after sale it will be out of reach for most of the public.
