i live in canada and we can't wear velvet due to the heating indoors... unless it's an outdoor event in which case i dont think i would wear shalwar kameez anyway
but linen sounds nice
does it wrinkle easily though?

I don't mind wearing velvet at home, as we keep our home not too hot and open windows during the day to get fresh air.
