Koi mahram raz nahin milda
They say; a good investor invests in a company that has a potential to grow in the future and often, if not always, it's past performance has nothing to do with how well it will perform in the future. If you invest in companies already established, you might not get a lot of action but you won't lose money either. A good example might be buying WalMart shares. So if you want to be a successful investor, invest in potential, not in past glory.

So in the early star trek episodes the "extras" who would die in a mission would wear a different color shirt. These guys are suppose to be zombies from such episodes.
Yes, I work with nerds and geeks. They are disappointed that I didn't join them.
Oh, btw, if you were wondering how much snow I had to shovel yesterday? It was 20 inches, yes, 20!

And I am about to leave the lab; have to go take a shower, get Misbah ready and go to work. Then come pick her up and tag her along for the presentation tonight because Nadia is out of town on business starting today.
Such is life.

I am sure everyone has heard of the story, right? Be it falsely yelling wolf, or lion or robbers etc. The end is the same. The menace eats his goats, or him ... he loses. The idea behind the story is to be truthful or it will eventually catch up to you. I think it is very appropriate. Though there is also another subtle message and that is if someone does lie, he deserves a punishment. "He had it coming" kinda feeling, the message that it is very natural for the world to stop caring about...

Went to the spine specialist. He looked at x-rays and said I need MRI (typical). He didn't sound much concerned, so I think I will be ok but I am sure he is going to say no more running. That's what all my doctors say. They don't know jack ... I need the pain. It keeps me going. I wouldn't mind started swimming again (did I ever tell you guys I went to all Pakistan under 16 swimming competition, representing N.W.F.P?) ... but I will never find a non-co-ed swimming pool. Well I can go to the one...

You know, being in pain for the past few days, I have realized why most old people become bitter. Because as their health goes south, they are in constant pain for one reason or another and when someone is in pain, they snap.
Mystery solved.

Dear Misbah,
Your Mom and I went to your first real parent-teacher conference yesterday. I have to admit that I enjoyed playing with you in the school play ground more so than the meeting. No matter how exciting and rewarding my job ever be, it will never come close to the happiness that comes from spending time with you.
Your teacher said you were off the charts in reading and math and your writing skills were not that far behind either. I knew it already so what really...

In one of my group projects I have a member who is from South Korea, with a very thick South Korean accent, while one of the other is from India, named Sri.
During a project discussion where Sri was absent, my Korean partner said:
W: I think Sri should do it.
Me: Three? No I don't think so.
W: No no, Sri will be perfect. I think it will work out.
Me: Umm .. why do we need three to do it?
W: Well ... it needs a lot of work.
Me: Yeah but...

I don't like putting people on the pedestal and certainly hate being put there cos I fall flat on my face 100% of the time. I like Obama, I voted for him, I will vote for him again but this whole Nobel prize is just charming him up for something that is yet to materialize. I think politicians, just like children shouldn't be praised too much or it gets to their head.
It is sad that there were 146 who voted against the hate crime bill. I don't agree with the homosexual lifestyle...
