Having depression is like having allergies. It's nothing to be ashamed about. And it is a completely treatable. Don't let the taboos about depression stop you from seeking the help you need. Getting out of this cycle can really improve your quality of life.
I am NOT suggesting/encouraging any kind of pills, only a trained psychologist can advise them. And even if he does, ask him/her for alternatives.

- you cant sleep enough or you sleep too much
- you cant concentrate or find that previously easy tasks are now difficult
- you feel worthless and hopeless
- you cant control your negative thoughts, no matter how much you try
- you have lost your appetite or you cant stop eating
- you are constantly irritated or become enraged even at small things and this is new for you
- you have thoughts that life is not worth living, or have a plan for how you would end it (Seek help immediately if this is the case)
