swim away the pain

Went to the spine specialist. He looked at x-rays and said I need MRI (typical). He didn't sound much concerned, so I think I will be ok but I am sure he is going to say no more running. That's what all my doctors say. They don't know jack ... I need the pain. It keeps me going. I wouldn't mind started swimming again (did I ever tell you guys I went to all Pakistan under 16 swimming competition, representing N.W.F.P?) ... but I will never find a non-co-ed swimming pool. Well I can go to the one in town at 5 in the morning but I don't feel like paying them $30 a month for it.

In other news, my nephew is coming back for his "residency" interviews starting in December. I hope he finds a place that suits him, maybe his Mom (my sister) will follow him and then my parents will have no choice but to move out of Pakistan. :evil:

Did anyone get to listen to this on Morning Edition?

	can you not wear one of those water suits that scuba divers wear first time im seeing a Muslim guy worrying about what to wear in the pool, though it makes sense now that i think about it.

	wear goggles. i cant see through them. but i cant see anything without my glasses. why do people wear goggles?

	contary to popular belief most swimming pools are not like the beach. Women wear swim suits not bathing suits - there is a diffrence, flippers and swim caps and nose plugs and ears plugs. There is nothing to nazrain neechian. It's a sport - nothing to get sharmila over

	but if you already have bad sight thats Allah's way of making swimming pools ok for u. just get regular goggles and u'll be good to go.

	njgal, I go to my univ. gym, they do have a swimming pool ... and it ain't halal, well unless you go at odd hours. ravi aka Mr. 4 eyes, my eye sight is perfect I was giving you a suggestion.

	you wish u were 4 eyes urself now dont u? but that gives me an idea. why not get some prescription lenses. this way u wont be able to see very well, and make the pool ok for you.

	university pool no thank you. Try a community center pool where there are tons of senior citizens. That's where I swim. They would have water classes for you back too. (if you don't mind the old foggies)

	chi bhai, the Dr. said I will be in the machine for 40 minutes, is that true? In all the shows on TV .. it's like a couple of minutes deal and we all know TV doesn't lie.

	so you expect the tv show to show 40 minutes of a person in a tube? the things people blame TV for.

	Yes you will be in for 20-30 minutes at least, and you will be expected to lay very very still. If you move you can possibly screw the images and they'll have to redo the process from scratch. Oh and it will be loud. Imagine sitting next to a guy with a jackhammer. You will be given headphones though and you will be asked for your choice of music.
