" Michael Buble - Home"
Another summer day
Is come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm
Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know
And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?â€
Well I would send...

2 inches and counting! It is suppose to go on until weekend. They better not complain about drought this year.
Weather certainly has an effect on me. Under normal circumstances I would love this muggy, rain snow mix weather but with finals on the horizon, work pilling up and the house mess I need the SUNSHINE!

I hate the feeling that I should look out for something bad to happen in the coming days because some good things have happened lately with not too much of an effort on my part. I didn't use to have that feeling before and always considered it sign of not being in control of my life ... but lately I can't help but to feel that way.
The faith in Allah that He will look out of me is always there but when I realize that I haven't prayed as heartily as I used to, it gives me the chills...

It is unethical to code cryptically for job security reasons or to show everyone how smart you are. It is bad for maintenance and bad for business. Clearly written & well documented work is far better than a few cryptic lines.
Sometimes the checks that are in place to avoid using unnecessary work take a lot more effort to develop and execute than if there were no checks in the first place. And as the number of bugs are generally directly proportional to the lines of code, it...

Why is it that most performers (actors, singers, artists etc.) come from screwed up families? The only other profession that has a majority of people from screwed up families are criminals & serial killers. So, can we conclude that having an abnormal childhood leads one to be prominently creative or recklessly illicit? I don't think so.
It is natural to dig into the personal lives of famous people and a child with an abusive childhood who turns his life around to become a teacher,...

Delicate by Damien Rice
We might kiss when we are alone
When nobody's watching
We might take it home
We might make out when nobody's there
It's not that we're scared
It's just that it's delicate
So why do you fill my sorrow
With the words you've borrowed
From the only place you've know
And why do you sing Hallelujah
If it means nothing to you
Why do you sing with me at all?
We might...

It's hard to hate but some people just tick me off. Car salesmen top the list followed by realtors. There deceiving bullish sneakiness is probably the lowest among professions. I hate dealing with them ... and one of the reasons my next new car will be a Saturn.
Sometimes I just want to go get that stupid realtor license and be one myself. Someone who isn't nosey, or pressures you into things or give you mixed signals.
Thank God I don't have to deal with any lawyers...

Jokingly I tell people I have 4 kids, when their eyes go wide in surprise, I tell ‘em I was just joking and that I only have 3. The first one is the apple of my eye, Misbah, then I have parents who act like kids 75% of the time and then my wife who acts like one only 50% of the time. Most people don’t find it very funny as I can tell a fake laugh from a true one.
Anyway, being brought up as the youngest in the household is a curse and a blessing at the same time. Curse...

Yesterday was one of those days when I get in bed late at night and keep thinking about things I need to finish. Today is one of those days where I spend more time thinking about things to do than actually doing them.
Took Misbah to her 18 month appointment and she got her last shot as well. She cried for maybe 10 seconds and then got busy playing with things - I was sooooo proud of her. Still above the curve on the height percentile, the weight has improved as well and the head...

'Everybody is a bit racist' is actually a true statement. Deep down we all have prejudices and biases against others, sometimes people of our own color. Avoiding markets frequent by desis or avoiding routes through poor neighborhoods or looking down upon the way some ethnicities dress and act ..
In many ways everyone is a bit hypocrite as well. We tell our children to speak the truth while we can't always control ourselves and then make excuses like 'no one is perfect'. We speak...

As always the weekend went by soo quickly and I couldn't finish half the things I really wanted to finish. Saturday I took cousins and family to hike again but even after my persistent appeals for adequate apparel & foot wear none of them were ready to hike. The minute they got out of the car and felt the cold wind at 40mph and the icy, slippery track they gave up. It was a disappointment but at least they got out of the house. I also figured out that Misbah is too big for that baby shoulder...

Kastu-san: How was the test?
I replied: sh*t happens.
Katsu-san: wow, I have never heard you cuss before.
I replied: sh*t happens.
Ok, I haven't slept since Wednesday night and I won't be able to sleep till 9-10 tonight, so I am sure the angel on my left shoulder will cut me some slack.

Went to see the loan officer at the bank and got the qualification letter. So I am thinking I will go make an offer on the house over the weekend or Monday. Though, when he asked me about my salary and other financial stuff in order to do the letter, I hesitated to give him the information, most people would. But now that I think about it, I was hesitant not because it was too personal of an information but because I was embarrassed about my salary which I shouldn't be regardless of what it is....

I rushed out the door this morning, almost spilling the chai on me because I knew I was getting late. As I turned around the corner of my street, I saw John getting into this other fancier & bigger car without any problem. For a second I felt relived and next second a bit jealous, followed by guilt. I was late but at least he got a ride to work.
We have been friends since the time I moved into this apartment. I like him a lot and meeting him every morning gives me the strength...
