Yes the name was picked out by our in house dactarni Khumar. My neice who's visiting asked the other day if we've named her and the first thing that came to mind was moo-lan devi so now that name has stuck

Saw this at the chinese supermarket the other day. They get alot of products imported from the Philippines and Malaysia so its not uncommon to see the halal tag on many products.
