We should be remembering them all year round but this time is more important because everyone is out celebrating with family and friends with the best of best food at the most luxurious of places. And yes one of these luxury is a home. Please remember those poor kids who are without a home and parents. Those people who won't see a piece of bread even on EID day. We all give zakaat, but we can always give more, so take out whatever you have and give it to the needy. jazakallah.

reminder for myself first.

we make our schedules around our appointments, school, work, family, tv shows, movies, dinner parties, outings...etc we make our schedules around everything BUT prayer, our 5x obligatory prayers! the 5x prayers that we will be asked about (amongst other things) on the yawm-ul-deen / day of resurrection. we won't be asked, O why you arrived late at the party, O why you missed that tv show, etc..

insh'Allah, let this Ramadan be a lesson for all...

was listening to Imam Anwar al-Awlaki this morning and he mentioned how on the day of judgment, Allah will ask us about EVERYTHING we did. Even the most pious person will be asked about his/her bad deeds. Not just our actions but our thoughts. We will be questioned why we thought like that and if we acted upon those thoughts, why...?! I know this seems a bit repetative but we have those moments where we start to shake n cry because of fear and for me this was it this morning.. plzz ramadan is coming...

as usual it was hectic at the local office supply (more of a school supply) store.. took the 3 of the 4 kids (since 1 thinks she's old enough to go out blah blah)..

damn kids with their attitudes.. im sorry little girl (14-15) but the line is moving so should you.. i only moved the trolly for her and she shows me her ugly little face with evil eyes.

and then there those BIG boned mothers who first don't want to move and second don't hear anything. WTF lady move ur big...
