Conscience

Posted Aug 20th, 2009 at 07:20 PM by Croquet

One man capable and guilty of delibereately killing another yet lucky enough to preserve conscience to guide him is almost a bittersweet reality. Makes me think, many of us donot commit crimes as grave as murder because we
  1. simply shirk away from taking another life,
  2. some are incapable of the voilence required and
  3. some who are merely afraid of the deed catching up to them.
May Allah protect all from voilence and savagery.
I have never really given murder a thought till i was in year 11 i think. A friend of mine brought up an incident where a woman took the life of her husband because supposedly he literally kept her captive. Being an active women right supporter she thought i would be able to appreciate the woman's desperation to see past the murder. I wasnt able to see past the murder. In retrospect i think i am pretty happy with that. That was the first time i ever spared thought to the deed itself. Before that sure, you like murder mysteries as much as i you read lots about them, in news , every where the murder is mentioned, being built on for what ever purposes. but the very nature of this action is heinous indeed. Reminds me of Rhett Butler if upto women there would be no wars. Some may contest the statement and may be rightly so but i have always held the belief that women have a deeper revulsion for voilence than men. That in itself is one good reason to thank for being a woman.

A few years ago I was taking a self defence class, strangely enough I was the only female there. A couple of weeks into it we had to fake attack someone in a circle and the person in the middle, the victim had to protect themselves with a knife. When it came to my turn, the instructor said I was the only female he has ever seen act so quickly with a knife. He said my reactions were a lot quicker than most men and that I wanted to harm. It was a plastic knife...luckily. Oh and I think my trail of thought was that I think I could possibly have the potential to be quite a violent person.

thats interesting sometimes what we cringe from consciously we comit all too readily in reflexive reaction. who knows may be if i am in a clutch time the reaction or reflexes make me narrate a totally different tale. they say their is a snap at times so far i havent experienced it though.

Yes! I refused point blank for a good 20 mins about not even touching a plastic knife...he really forced me into it, I remember nearly being at the point of tears just before I agreed to touch it. The silly thing was, the men in the class were so lovely, they would always offer me water or a ride home as I had to walk so far, I felt so guilt breaking my nails whilst punching them not to mention fake stabbing them!
