^ that doesn't count bhaijaan. They always had the queen. Women in authority wasn't anything new. Now if thy elect a 'paki' they can claim to have over come the color issue.

ahmadjee, queen was not elected. Thatcher was.

and as far as 'pakis' go, how many pakis do we have in US senate versus in UK parliament.

hiram rhodes was teh first black senator in US in 1870, slavery began in 1607, so 263 or so years after african americans came as slaves, one was elected in congress.

In UK, mohamamd sarwar became teh first pakistani descent elected MP in 1997, Pakistanis or Indians did nto start arriving in UK in any sizable numbers until just a few decades earlier. Lord Nazir Ahmad of Rotherham became the first pakistani member of the house of lords in 1998.

obviously teh first muslim in US senate is Keith Ellison elected in 2006. First muslim in UK house of lords was Henry Edward John Stanley in 1862.

while US is def ahead in electing a minority to teh highest office, but Uk has been ahead in having a woman, and has been ahead in other areas I pointed out.

and for all canaqdian yipyap, they did not elect a black person to their house until 1963- leonard braithwaite.

Uk had elected its first desi dadabhoy Naoroji a parsi indian to the parliament in 1892.

    just some factoids.

I think the UK have the ability to Elect A non White Prime Minister .. I think we sometimes forget that If Obama was White/black or chinese he would have won because of his thoughts, his presence and also his ability to communicate with the masses

We in the UK, have no one like that in the Government, no one with that presence. Margaret Thatcher was a woman of presence, had great thoughts and had the power...

Everyone knew she was worlds ahead of any man..

The white mp's are wierdo's and the Asian mp's are as useless as Pakistani mp's .. can't string a sentence together infront of anyone.. they can't captivate an audience..

It feels like they've picked up a rich, worked like a donkey or was born into riches and put him forward to represent the masses.. wait a minute I'd laugh if it wasn't so true..
