The problem with young people today is that they don’t know how to drive.

Mr. Weasel taught me to drive and if I even thought of running a stop sign or turning up the radio he’d have taken away my keys, locked me in the cellar and set the dogs on me. Back then he taught me to respect the rules of the road.

But these young people today – they drive like drunken fruit bats. Speeding down the road while talking on the phone, sending text messages and checking their god...

So the summer ended up being far busier then what I had expected. After Disney world trip I had thought that the rest of the hot days would be spent hiding behind curtain drawn windows away from southern sun and the weasel family will become the nocturnal batty family coming out only when it was dark. College finals ended couple of weeks ago and now the weasel boys are home for summer. Boys back from college mean insane amount of laundry for me with loads and loads of black garbage bags full of dirty clothes in my utility room and late night ‘yaar dost’ visits and ‘hookah’ gatherings in the back patio. I have been waking up to my kitchen counter full of paper plates and silverware from the late night fridge raids by the gang of hungry young men.
Middle school finals begin this week and...

It has been a long time. Life has been kinda busy. My lappy was in the shop for 3 weeks and all it needed was a small part, where the charger goes in. Service charge was insane though. I didn’t realize how much time I waste while surfing the web. While the lappy was hospitalized I accomplished quite a bit. Happy valentine day. Last night Mr weasel was told in no uncertain terms that I don’t want any chocolate due to that constant diet that I am always on. One more school fundraiser! This time aimed at only parents. Our school throws a big fun filled spring extravaganza just for parents every year. The aim is to attract more donations in the form of monetary contributions or property and equipment. We have never taken a part in it ever since we joined the school. The activities offered for the event are not the sort we enjoy or will participate in. this year being one of the room moms for the grade I had to contribute and I decided that being a part...

We have these friend who are much older then us, some of their kids are our age but their youngest is with missy, long story. Anyways, they lived in florida for sometime and own a few yatchs there. If they are not out of the country they spend their holidays on the yatch with family. I just found out that they are planning to try ‘ houseboating’ for a few years. After this school year is over they will take missys friend and their grand daughter and sail off to turkey where they have some businesses....

Past few days have been busy. A nice and much needed trip out of town for the long weekend. Time spent with kids, family and friends recharged me and will sustain us all for the rest of the semester until spring break. Its back to school for kids with a new semester and my brain is brewing arts and craft ideas for the coming months. There are so many ideas and not much time. I need to prioritize. It has been couple of beautiful days here. Down here we have good 9 months of summer and the remaining 3 are somehow categorized between spring and fall. Our winters are probably like mild fall for the rest of the country and our springs blow by too fast. Today the streets seemed to have more breathing room probably because it is the back to school week meaning less reckless teen drivers on the roads. About 3, 4 times a year I go thro a phase of either wanting to go back to work or take a continuing class or something. I think it is related to the changing season. Every parent does their share of volunteering and fund raising for their childrens school. I myself have spent countless hrs copying, stapling, stacking, cutting and pasting. Did my lunch hall duty, sick room duty, ear and vision screening. You get the picture. Along with all this there is about 2 other fundraisers a year in almost every school.
