After reading Life1, I sometimes seriously think that I should never ever ever ever ever think about getting married ever.

A few minutes after reading some of the threads there I just wonder, are most married people ever really truly happy with eachother?

Life1 is mostly indian soaps induced issues, and a majority of the post-marital experiences are posted by unmarried ones. Being married is not as easy as 1+1, for sure, but not such a horrific experience. Most of the people are married and mashallah happy. There is responsibility, compromise and sacrifice, but that works both ways. In most cases, one's parents are a fairly good example of what a normal marriage looks like.

Well well said Jaanwy... Munni, please also note that half the stuff said in life1 is fabricated ... its not real so stop believing everything you read.

Plus , look at it this way, if 100 people get married in a week , 4 of them come to GS and post the unfortunate happenings to them... should you make your decisions based on the 4 or the remaining 96?

Keep your outlook positive , this is life , things happen not to scare us but to make us stronger...

I agree that a lot of the stories in life 1 seem made up.. Regardless most people don't post blogs/stories about how peachy and good their life is, cuz if they did they'd be thrown rotten tomatoes for boasting etc...

so there are plenty of happily married couples out there Mashallah. Also remember every couple has issues/fights it's normal, key is to work past that and make marriage work. Even if a genuine problem is posted, that is just a small aspect of the marriage sometimes.

Although it may not represent the majority of people I can say that my former roomates that were married...a majority of them advised me that its better to be single. The reasons they had for staying in their marriages were surprising to say the least.
