You know when you have a problem, and you tell someone, and they say "Its nothing". And then you get mad because you think it is something and you're frustrated that they're not taking you seriously? And then you think "I hope it is something, just so that you're wrong!". Yeah, that's what my day's been like, and right now I'm beginning to hope that she was right and that I was wrong.

So, there is an outpouring of emotion and frustration that I need to do. Here it goes:
So, I'm in a living situation that I'm satisfied with, but I do feel lonesome and what not because of where the apartment is located. Its got a great view, its bright, and its small and cozy. But the problem is that its in a horrible neighborhood and that there is nothing nearby. I mean like no retail or anything. Just the school and then the surrounding ghetto area. So, after sundown roughly, I...

I made so much food today, its not even funny. I cooked for like 20 people with my roommate. It was her turn to do the cooking, and so she asked for my help. I taught her how to make rice, desi style. And no I'm not talking the way some of you cook it. Our family has a totally different and unique way of doing it On top of that chicken tikka, that I made not on the barbeque but in a karhai (so does that make it karhai tandoori chicken? I dunno). We also made a whole lot of fish,...

I really like long weekends. They're so relaxing. I have quite a bit to do , but the fact that Monday is off provides some cushioning to the fall.
I went out shopping yesterday, since my watch broke and I need a new one. I don't get why ladies watches are all about beauty and next to no precision. They're all glitzy and shiny. In the process, the designers forget to add minute marks and a second hand, thinking that women obviously don't need watches for work purposes, and can estimate...

Rule: If you feel like a loser, you most likely are one.
This has been the "I'm such a loser" week. You know, every now and then your own loser-ness dawns on you, and you're simply reminded every moment during this time that you're a loser. So, I'm owning up. I'm such a loser.
And to complete my loser-ness for the week, hopefully, I'm going to bed tonight at 10. And to top it off, tomorrow, I'm going to NOT party on a Friday night.
Maybe this...

I don't get why so many people think its totally ok for them to judge others? I guess we're all criminals when it comes to it, but how can you judge someone based upon whether they wear a hijab or not??? So many people don't wear a complete veil anymore. I don't see HOW that makes you a bad person. Dress does reflect your personality, of course, and it can sometimes show what you want others to think about you. I mean, you see a lady with high stilletto glittery heels, and cheap tank with rhinestones,...

That song is stuck in my head - "Its a wonderful night...". I don't know the rest, but the tune is with me.
Traffic is a mess in this city - people are going crazy with their last minute shopping and harassing those good citizens, like me, who already did their holiday shopping and are now out just to get a fresh new shaving razor and some groceries.
Eid is coming up. And its coinciding with new years' celebrations. Its a wonderful night...

Looking back on this year, I have to say this was a great year. Yeah yeah, I have some days left before I should start writing a memoir for the year, but I have time right now and I'm in the mood.
It was a good year.
Wayyyyyyyy better than 2005. I was partially an idiot in 2005 and also life threw some nasty hurdles at me in 2005. I got through it but only with God's help I think. I was drowning, and I can still remember the suffocation.
But 2006 was...

They're foreign for the most part. The ones highlighted rebelled because their husbands took on second wives.
Now what's the use of polygamy when it turns your wife into an enraged person who feels they need to go into an army to help fight a war that is killing innocent people around the world?
The irony of muslim behavior....

I'll watch over you
But don't ask me what's going to happen next.
You're going to have to find out for yourself.
Just to make it easier it on you.
