Last week i was mostly out either shopping or visiting people with my parents and finally Osama had three days off. He usually works seven days a week. I was busy for the past few days...running around and doing lots of things. InshAllah, we will have around 3 families coming over to stay with us and we'll have eid together. So, i am hoping that it will be lots of fun.

Today i made a chicken breast and i injected the marinade with the injector. It was so good and then i carved the chicken with the electric knife...i'll use the chicken in the salads, soup and sandwiches. So, this experiment was successful.

forward to the holidays of rest of my family members. Ammi, is finishing her exams and classes today. So, probably next week i can go with her to some places. Abbu and saadaan's last day is next friday. It's so nice to have people around in the house.

Today's menu is chinese: egg fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and almond chicken. I made almond chicken for the first time and it is tasty.

As for shopping, i got a new microwave, electric knife and professional taste injector...and i have to say that i love electric knife. I made beef roast and with the help of electric knife..i was able to cut some nice pieces.

I am craving for some hot soup for the past few days...so, i might make cream of chicken soup today....or something easy and quick.

as requested...

3 cups rice
few strands of javitri
a pinch of corriander seeds
2/3 pinches of zeera
a pinch of black pepper
a pinch of laung
2 big cardamoms
4 small cardamoms
3 tsp salt

Boil all the above ingredients together with some oil.

3 onions fry them and keep them aside.

2 to 2.5 pound chicken
2 big green chillies (cut side length)
1.5 cup yogurt
2 big tomatoes

Today for the first time i made masalay wali biryani without any recipes or packet masalas..and added all the yummy ingredients that i have been keeping in my mental notes while i ate other people's yummy biryaniyan.

I wish i was living in moghal era *wishful thinking* and had a magic wand with me...so i could have visited all the kitchens of kings and nawabs and would have stolen all the secret recipes from there....

i can be free from zayan's needles for a while. I took him to the doctor yesterday for his 18 months shots. Now, i don't have to take him until he turns 4 years old. What a relief.

yeah so the long awaited laptop arrived on friday when i was out and saadaan tricked me by putting the ups sticker outside the house and i thought that the ups person came and no one opened the door. The laptop is so cute...i wanted those tiny 12 inch laptop so i got this one.

On saturday i went to my cousin's son aqeeqa...and zayan was having fun and play with so many other kids...but he would come back to the table after sometime. Zayan says many new things now like: catch catch,...

keep looking at the window to see if the ups delivery is here yet or not. I also keep checking their site too..i just want to get my parcel. I can't wait for the new laptop.

I have a new hobby these days...hahaha. I wait for the flyers to arrive on weekend so that i can checkout all the sales. I have a list of things to buy and i keep putting things on and off that list.

My semester is almost coming to an end and then i am off for a month. So, here i am..i just wanted to say salam and hello to everyone. I'll catch up with everyone's journals soon.
