I do want your money

Posted Oct 9th, 2009 at 10:52 AM by ravage

Well heres how much personal interest the power that Be takes in my mundane thoughts. I make a little post about how unimportant material possessions are and soon after I find out that our finance department mucked up and I wont be getting money for another 20 days.

Tough love I guess.

Looking at the regional forums quick links, I notice a bit of developer fatigue that I can relate to. You start off designing a product, you're really motivated. You need to think of abbreviations for city names... isb for islamabad.. good. Khi for karachi .. pretty standard.. but the cities keep on on coming.. kashmir?.. muzaffargarh is a big city there lets go with mfg. But then you just stop trying. lyp for faisalabad ... (nobody calls it lyallpur anymore! doesnt matter). mux for multan? uet for quetta?

Been there.

Khumar hard as it maybe to believe I figured that out before you did. but still I dont see the relevance of airport codes, not unless we're selling airline tickets.

Monk how do you like the fact that the city has been named after two foreigners? Its like nobody wants to take responsibility for it.

Cuz it was hard to come up with shortcuts for the various cities. So airport codes it was. It was getting a bit messy, and no one could come up with a consensus as to what the shortcut for what city should be.
