in the wrong country.. maybe

i feel as though we need more pakistanis where i am... ok, so i only think about this when im having issues finding prospects... not for me this time. But for a very good friend of mine... and another for my BIL..

damn it..

im so annoyed at the moment..

neways, considering i dont know that many people (anymore) in melbourne.. i decided to venture out and look for someone on like muslim matrimony sites.. i figured, i could maybe tlak to someone and see how it goes.. there was one girl who had registered on a few sites... on one of the sites she had listed her contact details... so i paid and registered and contacted the lass..

she must have been freaked out.. as u would and first acknowledged she was the one i had called for but after telling her how i got her number she said that wasnt her and wasnt her details... after saying yes to everything on the site.. she still said it wasnt her and she didnt put the details there

and then said her name was somethign else..

ok, so she was embarrassed...

she said she would call later.. and i messaged her apologising for freaking her out

she hasnt called

no big deal..

point is, why do u have ur contact details and watever else on a matrimony website when u dont want to be contacted? and she's a very active member (u can tell when they last logged in and stuff)..

my MIL wants me to find him someone.. my BIL wants me to find him someone rather than his sister... im soooo under pressure..

	Sadzz my family lives in Melbourne too, but it's all boys so can't be of much help. I know it can be difficult as we had problems looking for my bros as well, they are all married/engaged now, so we are off load now but I can totally understand you. There's a sticky rishta thread in the wedding forum, try that if you feel comfortable.

	hey masi... yeah ive tried that thread. There aint anyone in australia, or noone who would remotely be interested.. LOL! how did u go about finding girls for your bros masi?

well the elder one found someone for himself, though she was based in Pakistan and the younger two ended up with cousins, safe option. My parents tried first in Pak but obviously every family wanted to meet the guys and rightly so, but it wasn't possible to fly them over every time so they tried in Aussie but no luck cos of the lack of networking and eventually ended up in Pakistan again. They are all happy mashAllah.

yeah. Its just so hard here isnt it? the problem in melourne is though... when i was looking a few yaers back, there werent any guys.. but the ones who are looking now, the guys and girls have known each other since like they were born, so they dont want to marry one another... aagh

my BIL though... well he doesnt quite want someon from pakistan.. if there is someone, he wants someone whose going to be educated and totally independant. Im sure we can find someone, its just we're all here.. his parents in UAE and, well, its difficult to find someone in pakistan whilst ur so far away...

	and yea I tried the matrimonial site too..secretly registered without telling anyone..lolz but I doubted almost everyone so idea flopped ..

	My bros actually wanted someone from Pak, it wasn't working though that's why they tried aussie. They were born/bred in pak and moved there around 11-12 years back and we were all more comfortable with girls raised in Pak, just a personal preference not meant to degrade anyone.

	oh no no... not an issue at all. There are a lot of girls in melbourne now.. just, i dont know anyone who is willing to live in a joint family system, if the need being... u know how it is?

	well one can't promise that girls from pak will be all that willing to live in joint family system, rishtas are very trick, there's no safe bet i guess .. Good luck with the hunt anyway btw how old is your BIL?

Try posting in the rishta thread in the wedding section on GS.

Keep trying the web and maybe you could speak to some elders at your local mosque or some nearby mosques. Drop a hint to some friends etc that you are in the process of looking for your BIL and maybe they will be able to point you in the right direction.

About the joint family thing, you may be pleasantly surprised but someone could warm to the idea.
