A group of Pakistanis visited a place near Israel-Jordan border. Local people told them that the Jews frequently ask them one question: "In your mosques what is the ratio of the quantity of men in the morning & Friday prayer ?"

They reply, "Usually around 20 men in morning & 1000 in Friday prayer"

Man is made of water & soil, in which the weed of evil grows on its own & doesn't die itself but needs to be cut and removed. But the seed of 'Imaan' (good) needs to be cultivated and taken care of, even a bit of careless attitude can easily damage it. Allah (swt) speaks to us through Quran, and we speak to Allah (swt) through namaz (salah) but in both cases we don't understand anything. Just like a beggar speaking to a King repeats words of an unknown language (like a parrot) without knowing what he is begging for or what the king is saying to him. How then can he express his love, sincerity, humbleness, thankfulness, submission,...etc. Our salah would become noor (light) only if we calmly concentrate on every word of it by giving time to each...

A man was arguing with Prophet Isa a.s. (Jesus) about the proof of existence of Allah (swt) and Isa (a.s) being HIS prophet. He said to Isa (a.s), "Jump from a hill. If Allah (swt) exists, He should save you because you are His prophet."

Isa a.s (Jesus) replied, " It is only the right of Allah (swt) to test me. I have no right to test HIM"

This was his level of submission towards Allah's will, and his 100% time was spent in obedience to Allah (swt) yet...

I went to listen to a great scholar who explained a heart breaking incident. He said that one of his colleagues was on his death bed (he didn't mentioned any name). Being a pious person he and his friends knew that it would be easy for him to recite 'kalima' before dying but he remained quiet while his eyes were closed. After sometime he started speaking in a painful low voice, " Please pray for me, as one of my sins is preventing me from reciting Kalima"

No matter how angry a mother is with her disobedient and rude child, there is one time she can never avoid him. It is when her child cries in pain for help, when the tears in his eyes say sorry for his misbehavior, when he honestly accepts his faults and sincerely repents with determination that he will never repeat his mistakes by the grace of Allah (swt) to the best of his ability.

Why is there a clash between my "nafs" and my AIM of becoming like my role models. My nafs would want me to spend a lot of money on delicious foods to satisfy my desires of expensive meals even if my brother sleeps empty stomach, while my Ideals lived most of their life fasting.

My nafs becomes impatient when I should be patient in doing good deeds and preventing myself from bad deeds whereas time passes quickly in useless sources of entertainment. I don't know of a single...

The son of Imam Ahmed bin hanbal saw him whispering something while on death bed in the state of nazaa (a state b/w life & death). As he came closer, he heard his father saying, "NOT YET, NOT YET, NOT YET..."

Check heart's feeling in 3 places. The Imaan (faith) is weakened, if:

-- reading whole newspaper is easy, but short Quran recitation is difficult.

-- no interest in discussions of Allah & HIS orders.

-- while alone, heart is void of thankfulness for Allah's blessings & fear of HIS questioning in the life hereafter. [ref:Abdullah ibn Masoud (ra)]

No other shaitaan (devil) came to mislead Iblees (the original devil). It was "Nafs" that took away such a high rank from Ibless making him Shaitaan. Defeating the pharaoh inside oneself is more important than winning against non-Muslims, that is why it is called the GREATER Jihad.

A person couldn't hide his passion and love for the Prophet (saw) so in every gathering he couldn't control himself from emotionally speaking for hours about the greatness of the Prophet (saw). People used to consider him a sincere follower of the Prophet (saw) till he saw the prophet (saw) in dream, who (saw) very politely told him," A person who practically follows my way of life (sunnah) makes me more happy than a person who only speaks about my qualities"
