There is a cobbler who sits on the ground near the masjid I go to, but is ignored just like other things placed on the ground. Usually he *smilingly* initiates so quickly in saying salam that I am the one who has to reply, my expressions depending upon my mood. But he immediately moves back his hand (that was unintentionally raised due to excitement) after realizing that some people might not like to shake hands with his that were holding shoes few moments ago.
Today was a different...

When the news of the crusader army that had prepared on the horizons to wipe out Islam reached him, Abu Qudaamah Ash-Shaamee moved quickly to the Mimbar of the Masjid. In a powerful and emotional speech, Abu Qudaamah ignited the desire of the community to defend their land, Jihad for the sake of Allah. As he left the Masjid, walking down a dark and secluded alley, a women stopped him and said, "As salamu alaykum wa Rahmatullaah!"
Abu Qudaamah stopped and did not answer. She...

To see how high a child would rise in life, check:
1. With 0% practical experience, how quickly he sincerely 'absorbs' the intense emphasis of his parents to inculcate in him the value of education.
2. Knowing parents' sincerity, does he ignore their warnings against unsuccessful exam scores by saying, "We will see when it comes" let me enjoy now the activities my heart desires.
3. Is he consistent in jolting himself to prepare before the actual exam...

A scholar once told me that a painful time in a Muslim's life is basically due to two reasons:
It is either a test from Allah to increase his degree in heaven, to wash away his sins, to reward him in near future and to bring him closer to Allah. The only deed with infinite rewards is to be patient in troubled times (hadith)
Or it might be a punishment from Allah due to his past sins for which he didn't repent, hence nature pushes him back to the path of Allah from which he had deviated....

I disliked the scholars who told me the "bitter truth" because most of them are against the forbidden desires/luxury that my heart enjoys. I always liked the scholar who is ready to bend and twist the Islamic regulations in order to accommodate in it my present lifestyle, that includes more of the sophisticated stuff than Quran, remembrance of Allah (Zikr), charity...etc. But one day while I was unintentionally trying to justify to a scholar the importance of "time spent on"...

In fact it is the wonder of the horse whose sense of loyalty reaches its maximum level after you give it some water from a pond and dry grass to eat only ONCE. Then their master become their priority over their own comfort and life. Even with an empty stomach, they are always ready for their master. Before a battle they don't look back at the master with a look that says, "This is your fight, why are you pushing me into it and risking my life ? Isn't that enough that I have been carrying you...

As Umar (r.a) passed by a house at midnight, he heard a women reciting in the memory of the departed Prophet (saw): translation: "(O' Prophet ) May peace and blessings of Allah (swt) be upon you. You used to cry at night (for the ummah) and were fearful of Allah. I don't know if Allah would allow me to meet you on the day of Judgment. With time, my deeds are changing. I don't know in what condition would I die, I wonder if I would be able to meet you...."
Overwhelmed, Umar...

materialistically, GOOD! otherwise, I never claimed to be a good Muslim. I find it impossible to wake up early to go to mosque (unless the Imam distributes free latest laptops after dua, then I would be the first one to reach half an hour earlier or may be I won't even sleep at night to not miss the great sawab. Even if I fell dizzy, my relatives will make sure that I don't lose this honor. My friends would accompany me in this noble cause and join the great crowd coming from all directions towards...

Tonight was stormy and rainy. As I hurried out of a shop into a park and moved towards my home, I saw the same man with torn clothes quietly standing in the rain selling corns. As usual no one was buying it from him. He was quietly watching the people enjoying with their children, laughing, buying expensive clothes, eating food and moving towards their expensive cars.
I asked him the price of one corn. Confused, he quickly paused for a second and then looked into my eyes, as if I would...

If my colleague comes to meet me and offers me free pork, alcohol and dirty stuff to watch. I would get angry and kick him out of my room. Then I would look into the mirror and feel happy about myself being a good person who doesn't indulge in such stuff.
Now, the same colleague enters my room and secretly tells me that he has something "important" to share with me against "my competitor" in office. I would keenly ask him to sit and happily order a cup of tea, so...

If a person asks me, "Between the two, whom do you love more, whose words matter to you more, whom you try to impress, whose praise you wish, whose thankfulness satisfies you, whose love forces you to give him more time and sacrifices.....etc. In short, who is the ultimate motivation behind the energy that you have. Allah (swt) or People ?"
Most Probably I would slap him for such a comparison and asking me a question with a 100% obvious answer. BUT, have I really checked and...

I know I would be highly criticized by some, but I couldn't resist expressing my views on this subject. I might be totally wrong, in that case please pray that Allah (swt) may cure my insanity.
Recently a person went to attend the funeral of a religious scholar. His children told people that in their whole life they never saw their father sleep on bed. Either he used to fell asleep while reading, or while writing about the life and words of the Prophet (saw). His books would of course...

Encouraging good and discouraging bad is a vital requirement of being a Muslim as mentioned in Surah-Asar. Usually if a Muslim tries to perform this "MUST duty" with wisdom, few people might misunderstand him and think that he is trying to show his dominance & proving others wrong only for boosting his own ego, while only Allah (swt) knows his true intentions, which even the preacher himself doesn't know100% until death.
Even if the biggest scholar says that his heart...

A man begged Hazrat Khizar (a.s) for money. Khizar (a.s) replied that he had nothing. Not recognizing whom he was talking to, the man said," I beg you in the name of Allah (swt)!" Khizar (a.s) got worried, then told him to sell khizar (a.s) as a slave.
Khizar (a.s) was cheaply sold to a man whom he served for 1 year. One morning he ordered khizar (a.s) to start building a house, while he would bring some laborers for help. On his return he was shocked to see a beautiful house....
