Here I have a chance to listen alot of new English accents. You can listen to french people , chinese people , thn uk native people thn arabic people ..all hav got different accents as they r from different regions.
British accent is one most soft spoken and indian accent is also quite common too as u knw leicester is full of indians and chinese people.
I really lov the scotish accent. Its really something mind blowing.Although a bit rough but still its rocking.mostly french , itlain and chinese people , they are one who r totally blank in english.I have seen many of chinese people who got english to chinese dictionries and they try to translate each and every word during lecture.I know may be be u won t believe that but still thts wht I have seen.
I am quite confident and my english is quite good.I don t hav much problems but still I want to work on the accent ..try to speak in british accent as I am not satisfied with my normal indian accent.but still a long way to go.lets during that time I will put some effort and learn new accents .I knw tht its not possible but still neutralization of accent is possible.
Inshalla I will make it through.DO pray for me and I will do the same and rest for u .

thts all.

thanksalot if u r reading my blogs I am really working on that want to improve them ..still it takes som time and some posts.

I am here in leicester for last 3 weeks. Its my first time here in UK and so first time in Leicester.I found that UK people are much caring loving and if u have any problems they are always there with some solution. Here , its leicester city full of Chinese people mostly girls thats good haha.As girls tehy are so magical. But u can find alot of Indians too here.Initially I was living there in univercity accommodation.then I left the univercity accommodation as it was a bit expensive plus I havnt being offered a permanent accommodation from univercity too. Then I had a chance to live in Companile hotel there In leicestrer city Centre. Some of my friends had moved to Holiday Inn thts too in city centre.Lucky guys as univercity had arranged it so not expensive. Those room there @ hotel were amazing with free breakfast in just 10 pounds amazing. but then after that I rented a place here on Evinton road and Draper street.its like we are three guys who are sharing this one house.I just have to pay 150 pounds per month quite cheaper accommodation as compare to univercity one which is 300 pounds per month.but rented place -- its excluding all bills.I have found that Uk a bit expensive . SO now initial problem is solved and next problem was cooking. As we are staying in a self catering houses , we have to cook whether we want it or not.initally we are just 2 guys who had moved inn and the third will join us after a month.but he has paid his due share.

Initially I am using a Nomi Sim here in my mobile. Its a bit expensive. One of my chinese friend told me that She had got a deal with voda phone 20 pounds per month which includes 300 message 300 minutes to call here in Uk and over and above.I am also thinking of taking some package but not sure yet.I think for me I don t have to call much on international no.s so need some no. which provides a cheapest possible local calls. We are interested in a local landline number too ...may virgin company as we are taking their internet connection.

I havnt faced any problem as mostly people are helping and speciallylvocal white people.but most on evinton road u can find all desi people with all desi mentality.U can find alot of desi shope there too.But I normally used to go to Morrison for shopping.I have seen that in just 15- 20 pounds u can do alot of shopping I guess enough for one week.U can buy alot of frozen foods items curry foods.but still that frozen food is not healthy but I had bought alot initially but we hav started cooking.we used to get petta bread that is our desi roti .its like 150 pence u can get 15 rotees and enough for one week.

My semester had started last week.I am taking four modules and doing M.Sc in engineering.I have seen that here not much lectures as back there in pakistan. But for me no exams ..as all courses are Class work and Practical work and they will assessed. And in the end we also need to work on some project and submit a report.

Life is really good here.Uk people are always in mast mood.Leicester univercity has got its own pubs in the Percegee Building. That means u don t have to go out to find girls and clubs. In initial week I had spent alot of time there but then afterwards don t hav that much energy. Its really lov to meet alot of people then talked to them.People drink alot here. But as u know drinkingis good for health I have joined them too.haha

initially jsut 4% alcohol bottles are fine with me.But then lets see where it ends.Leicester sounds is a radio station channel too which i used to listen most of the times. In this way u knw all information related to city.Keep in touch with city news.

Leicester has got one the world largest open fruit market.U can buy cheaper food there too but still it depends what time u go. they normally have filled bowls with fruit items in one pound.but in the evening u can find the same in 50 pence too as they want to dispose off rather than taking fruit back home.that What I think may be I am wrong.

I think thats alot of information. Here I have met alot girls mostly white and chinese girls. We also had tried Scotish dance and had attended a lengthy session with different stepping I don t remember much but that is alot of group work but still we have enjoyed alot.

To be continued ....

Thts all for today.
hope to get some comments.

SEVEN COMMON DEADLY SINS

These considerations were taken from pages 48, 49, 66 & 67 of the Twelve and Twelve
The bold type presents definitions from Webster's Unabridged Dictionary.

PRIDE: An over high opinion of oneself; exaggerated self-esteem; conceit, arrogance, vanity, self-satisfaction.

* Have I been so proud that I’ve been scorned (disrespected) as a braggart (bragger)?
* Have I acted prideful, consciously or unconsciously out of fear?
* Have I used pride to justify my excesses in my sex conduct?
* Do I like to feel and act superior to others?

GREED: Excessive desire for acquiring or having; desire for more than one needs or deserves.

* Have I been so greedy that I’ve been or could be labeled a thief?
* Do I long for the possessions of others out of fear of not getting enough?
* Do I let greed masquerade as ambition?

LUST: To feel an intense desire, especially sexual desire; to long: after or for.

* Have I been lustful enough to rape, if not physically what about in my mind?
* Do I fear I will never have the sex relations I need?
* Do I have sex excursions that have been dressed up in dreams or delusions of romance?

ANGER: A strong feeling excited by a real or supposed injury; often accompanied by a desire to take vengeance, or to obtain satisfaction from the offending party; resentment; wrath.

* Have I been angry enough to murder?
* Do I get angry out of fear when my instinctive demands are threatened?
* Have I enjoyed self-righteous anger in the fact that many people annoy me and that makes me superior to them?
* Have I enjoyed gossiping as a polite form of murder by character assassination?

GLUTTONY: One who eats too much. One with a great capacity for something; as, a glutton for work.

* Have I been gluttonous enough to ruin my health?
* Do I grab for everything I can, fearing I’ll never have enough?
* Do I bury myself in my work, hobbies or activities?

ENVY: To resent another for excellence or superiority in any way, and to be desirous of acquiring it.

* Do I agonized over the chronic (persistent or recurring) pain of envy?
* Does seeing the ambitions of others materialize make me fear that mine haven’t?
* Do I suffer from never being satisfied with what I have?
* Have I spent more time wishing for what others have than working towards them?

SLOTH: Disinclination to action or labor; sluggishness; habitual indolence; laziness, idleness; slowness; delay.

* Have I been paralyzed by sloth?
* Do I get alarmed with fear at the prospect of work?
* Do I work hard with no better motive than to be secure and slothful later on?
* Do I loaf and procrastinate?
* Do I work grudgingly and under half steam?

That's an old phrase up there, the battle of the sexes. Most people think of it as a joke. They're wrong. The sexes have been in a state of war for centuries, and in the last one,

That's an old phrase up there, the battle of the sexes. Most people think of it as a joke. They're wrong. The sexes have been in a state of war for centuries, and in the last one,
the men started losing.

"Men make Gods, and women worship them."
James G. Frazer (1854-1941)

Men don't need arm protectors for their couches. Hell, men don't even need toilet seats.
Why? Because we're men, damnit.

But women, women need every comfort imaginable. In the bathroom, all a guy needs is his razor, some soap, a towel and some toothpaste. Women need three drawers, two shelves and a closet full of crap—and that's just to take a dump. In the
kitchen, all most guys need is a skillet, a sharp knife and some salt and pepper. Modern women can't cook unless they've gotfour hundred plug-in appliances, eighteen bins of utensils, two spice racks, two ovens, an extra sink and then someone else todo the cooking.
Over the centuries, men have taken all the struggle out oflife—for women. Men still die early from the strain of supporting their families, of dealing with **** jobs and even bigger**** bosses, of fighting the government, their neighbors, their wives and every other thing around them day in and day out until the welcome black curtain of death comes to make it all better.

Our ancestors built huts for their women. Their sons builttowns, then castles, then sprawling metropolises everywhere
around the globe. Men have dotted the planet with shoppingmalls and beauty salons for women. We invented everything
we could to please them. We brought light into the homes, then we gave them vacuum cleaners, dish washers, steamirons, automatic washers and dryers, juice makers, rug shampooers,
drip coffee makers—everything we could think of to make their lives easier.
And you know what?
It was all one big mistake.

I'll tell you why.

Moral : - Women are like cats. They don't appreciate anything. The more you give them, the more they want. And you know it's
true.

"The real fault is to have faults and not amend them."
—Confucius

A Hindu proverb says,
“There is nothing noble about being
superior to some other person. The true nobility is in being superior to your previous self.”
How have you grown this year? (Besides in height.) What have you learned in school?
(Besides some history.)
Have you taken a step forward in athletics or academics or art? Or have you learned, perhaps, that when you argue, your words have more impact if spoken
quietly?
“Criticism,” wrote Eleanor Roosevelt, “makes very little dent upon me, unless I think there is some real justification and something should be done.” If a jerk insults you, shrug it off. Why let a jerk bring you down? But if someone you admire points out that you could have done better, don’t let the words just hurt you. Let them teach you, inspire you.
Criticism stings most when you recognize truth in it.Yet in everybody and everything there is room for improvement.
Instead of being defensive, reach higher, work harder. We are all works in progress.

Maybe the imagination creates what is new, but the imagination does not make the actual selection. The imagination does not ‘compose.’ A composition—and every work of art is one—is created in a wondrous interplay between imagination and reason,

the words and the ideas have ‘latent’ in their
consciousness, but now, when all caution and all censorship have let go, they are surfacing. It
can also be important for an artist not to let reason and reflection control a more or less
unconscious expression.
Shall I tell you a little story to illustrate this?”
“Sure.”
“It’s a very serious and a very sad story.”
“Okay.”
“Once upon a time there was a centipede that was amazingly good at dancing with all
hundred legs. All the creatures of the forest gathered to watch every time the centipede
danced, and they were all duly impressed by the exquisite dance. But there was one creature
that didn’t like watching the centipede dance—that was a tortoise.”
“It was probably just envious.”
“How can I get the centipede to stop dancing? thought the tortoise. He couldn’t just say
he didn’t like the dance. Neither could he say he danced better himself, that would obviously
be untrue. So he devised a fiendish plan.”
“Let’s hear it.”
“He sat down and wrote a letter to the centipede. ‘O incomparable centipede,’ he wrote, ‘I am a devoted admirer of your exquisite dancing. I must know how you go about it when you dance. Is it that you lift your left leg number 28 and then your right leg number 39? Or do you begin by lifting your right leg number 17 before you lift your left leg number 44? I await your answer in breathless anticipation. Yours truly, Tortoise.”
“How mean!”
“When the centipede read the letter, she immediately began to think about what she
actually did when she danced. Which leg did she lift first? And which leg next? What do you
think happened in the end?”
“The centipede never danced again?”
“That’s exactly what happened. And that’s the way it goes when imagination gets
strangled by reasoned deliberation.”
“That was a sad story.”

“It is important for an artist to be able to ‘let go.’
The surrealists tried to exploit this by
putting themselves into a state where things just happened by themselves. They had a sheet
of white paper in front of them and they began to write without thinking about what they wrote.
They called it automatic writing. The expression originally comes from spiritualism, where a
medium believed that a departed spirit was guiding the pen.
But perhaps there is an element of the unconscious in every creative process, for what do we actually mean by creativity?”
“I’ve no idea. Isn’t it when you create something?”
“Fair enough, and that happens in a delicate interplay between imagination and reason.
But all too frequently, reason throttles the imagination, and that’s serious because without
imagination, nothing really new will ever be created. I believe imagination is like a Darwinian
system.”
“I’m sorry, but that I didn’t get.”
“Well, Darwinism holds that nature’s mutants arise one after the other, but only a few of
them can be used. Only some of them get the right to live.”
“So?”“That’s how it is when we have an inspiration and get masses of new ideas. Thoughtmutants occur in the consciousness one after the other, at least if we refrain from censoring
ourselves too much. But only some of these thoughts can be used. Here, reason comes into its own.

It, too, has a vital function. When the day’s catch is laid on the table we must not forget to
be selective.”
“That’s not a bad comparison.”

“Imagine if everything that ‘strikes us’ were allowed to pass our lips! Not to speak of
jumping off our notepads out of our desk drawers! The world would sink under the weight of casual impulses and no selection would have taken place.”
“So it’s reason that chooses between all these ideas?”
“Yes, don’t you think so?

For there will always be an element of chance in the creative process. You have to turn the sheep loose before you can start to herd them.”
