Media Studies or something related? Business would do as well. I am a 4.0 student from the past 4 semesters. Academically and Student CV wise I am really good.

Are you restricting yourself to Chicago's city boundaries? if not, then Northwestern is probably your best bet to start with... just outside the city, its best known for its Kellogg School of Management - and most other grad programs are well regarded as well.

Well it's not like I have family there, so will most probably live in the dorms. Does not really matter as long as it's near Chicago. What about universities in Chicago itself?

I recommend University of Chicago if you are interested in Chicago city itself.
Just curious, why Chicago? When I think of the top programs in the US, they seem to be concentrated in the Northeast+California.

Media is usually concentrated in NY and CA.
Chicago's top of the line business school is most def: Northwestern University.
University of Chicago is among the elite in various fields, including Medicine but the admission is just as exclusive.
Consider the following:
Ranking Chicago's MBA Programs | Crain's Chicago Business
It is a list of top MBA programs offered at various schools in Chicago.

Teggy, not that I have any connections to Booth other than working with a few grads from there, but let me clear up the rankings issue: They don't mean much when you are talking about top programs. Kellogg's marketing specialization might be amazing but Booth wins hands down in Finance. So the choice would really program/concentration specific. Either way both are great schools

Perhaps you're right. I don't know as much about Business Schools.

I have lots of friends who did masters from chicago. Obvious top ranking choices are northwestern and university of chicago. University of Illinois- chicago is really good too. If you can afford being a few hours away from chicago, then university of illinois - urbana champagne is really good too

Decent unis in the suburbs and city of Chicago are Northwestern and Loyola.
Other than that, down in Champagne which is like 6, 7 hours from Chicago is the University of Illinois, great uni.

6-7 hours? how about 2.5 hours from downtown?
other good uni not too far from Chicago are NotreDame, which is about 90 mins away
but cant go wrong with Northwestern or Chicago.

Please make sure you have your credits evaluated, and know the requirements before hand. In most cases you will be required to take and pass GRE/TOEFL as a part of admission process along with other required material.
Best of luck.
You have some great suggestions up there, i would recommend contacting each of those schools directly and get as much information as you can. Guidance counselors can walk you though the entire process and lay out a specific plan for you once they have your documents (transcripts, etc.)

it takes 2-3 hours max from downtown to champagne. Out of all the listed ones above, UoI chicago is probably the lowest and Northwestern the highest ranked (maybe along with Uni of Chicago)
