Business Idea: Muslim Forbes Magazine

This place is a little dead these days, so let me step up.

With the growth of Islamic Banking and Sharia complaint lending, I wondering if there is a market for an Islamic Forbes style magazine? This magazine would not be limited to Muslims, but rather representing Muslim interests including economic assessments of Muslim majority countries, business profiles etc.

Yea or Nay?

Yea why not, not exactly like forbes but in uk at the moment they list asian businesses and businessmen and there also a muslim business directory - but again thats like green yellow pages!

Thanks. I was definitely thinking beyond the Muslim Green pages model not exactly posting Khan Halal meat in Slough but rather profiling James Caan.

there is a need of documenting Muslim's accomplishments, especially the way internet is transforming the world and transgression of media, there is a need not only to project soft image of Muslim Ummah, but also positivity with in the Ummah as well.

my only concern will be how many are self-made ones?
because majority of the names u hear are either choor, or either they inherited fortune from their father(s).

Zobs, there are plenty of Muslims who have done well in business. I'm talking about making money honestly.

Beyond just the accomplishments, the magazine would feature new initiatives in Islamic finance, country profiles, and opportunities for economic growth.

For example everyone has heard of Iran - but how many people know about Kish Island? This is a free trade zone as well as the International Oil Bourse. Kish Island occupies a central location in the Persian Gulf and is strategically well positioned for extensive economic growth and development.

Small example yet there are plenty of them. The vision is to create a magazine with accurate and world class reporting on issues related to Muslims and Muslim majority nations.
