So my niece has landed her first "real" career position as an ECE (i.e. Early Childhood Educator). She starts work on Monday.

I need to get her a gift today.

Ideas please.....

^ I'll never understand why women will pay $300 for a bag that looks exactly the same as the $15 bag in the Manhattan sidewalk. If it is the brand name tag, that can be obtained for under $5.

That and high heel shoes. They keep buying them, complain their feet are killing them every time theyt wear them and yet they go buy more high heels.

just plain stupid

Take the money and buy her a Kindle. She can read to her heart's content. What's more useful to an educator than knowledge

I'd say a gift card or a purse is always nice. I don't know about office bags, I personally like more casual kind of bags.

I know heel hurts but they look pretty and make you feel good. Also, kids like it when you are nicely dressed up.

A gift card of your local teacher's store or craft store will be a great idea. Oh some nice children music Cd's. She would love them.

May Allah bring peace in Pakistan. Ameen

Thanks for the ideas....they were great.

I bought her a nice shoulder bag because she has the nice trendy ones that are good to look at but hold nothing more than a wallet and a cell phone. I figured she might use one that could carry a few more items like an umbrella, a packed lunch and perhaps a book or two.

I didn't spend $300 on a name brand. I spent $50 on one that looked stylish and is made of leather.......attractive, durable and practical.

Lucky for me she loved it. And it looked great on her shoulder.
