I don't know much about schools in New Jersy. Basically, go for a bachelors in elementary education. There are different types of program. Mostly schools have a program that covers your licensure for pre K-grade 3 or K to grade 6. Once you graduate, take the state licensing exam. Once you have the license, you can start teaching. It might be different with private schools. Some private schools don't require that you have the license and will hire you on just a BA.
