Is any one doing MBBS here? I failed MBBS second year supp. exam in one paper. Now i cannot give third year final exams :-( Is there any way i can still appear in third year exam and give my supp. exam next year? I am feeling so low. I think i will quit my MBBS :-( My one year will be a waste. On top of that I am studying on self finance and my parents cannot afford to give the extra fee any more. What can I do?

I would advise that you pursue some other career as you indicated MBBS is not for you.

Im done with my MBBS. Sobia unless you clear your 2nd year exams again, you cannot give 3rd year exams. You will have to repeat the 2nd year. Are you in Pak?

IMHO, slug it out, time will heal many wounds. It's not an uncommon thing to fail the supply, many students go through this. But don't quit, instead try and look for your weaknesses and correct them.
You might feel alone now, but it gets better, trust me. Yes you'll always feel you've lost a year but when you finally graduate it won't matter as much.
My senior in medical school was a well-known doctor's son, he was 2 years senior to me but passed out with my batch. And yes my school was self-financed too.
Also a girl who was detained in one prof got a position in the uni in her next prof, so its not really uncommon what you're going through.
Keep your chin up. Relax, Chill for a few weeks and then start studying those books.
I promise, you'll come out as a better person.

P.S. The extra fees they charge you will be for the one subject you failed, i.e. not the whole year's fee. You should contact your College Office for further clearance on this matter.
pm me if you need anything.

i KNOW the pain because i've been there...so, relax!...make hard choices...re-evaluate your ability and/or commitment to stay in the course if you are NOT required to withdraw. there are other viable options available to you...don't despair and don't let the parental pressure eat you up from inside out. do what you think it's best in your interest. you are the one who can rationally evaluate yourself.

I totally agree with Mickeymouse, plz dnt quit. You know it and we know it, its not easy to get enrolled in MBBS, you have to be a v good student and as you are there it means you are a v good student. Just gather your self up, clear ur mind, evaluate your self, speak with ur seniors, listen to their advises and give it one more shot. I believe you can do it.

As they say... "Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain".

We all make mistakes... but as long as we learn from them, pick ourselves up, and keep moving, we'll be fine.

Ppl in Pakistan make a big deal out of "wasting a year" - while it shouldn't be that big a deal. Remember, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal."

I know... too many quotes - but hopefully, you'll be encouraged to continue.

the best is to confirm it with your uni/department. if they say that you willl have to repeat the third year but you will pay the fees of that one subject failed, even then i think it will be fine. i know your one yr will go in waste but you wont be paying tooo much and also in that one year you can study hard for the subject in which you failed plus you can start 3rd yr studies pre hand....that will be useful when u will start your third year.

dont quit mbbs...its one of the best fields...and very few get a chance to study it.

dont worry 1 year will go soooo quickly...all the best and do speak to your uni.

another thing i'll say is that try not to tell all about you repeating the year since people have this bad habit of being jealous and saying rubbish things. you can always make an excuse that your doing some work experience etc.

Ok seriously, do NOT quit. Repeat the year and it'll make you a much stronger person, and you'll know your stuff better too!

If you worry about what people will say think of it as this: they're gonna talk more if you leave mbbs altogether than if you just have to do a year again

Make loads of dua that things work out and inshallah they will!

i failed a supplementary in ENT and only ENT, it happened only twice in the history of college. once u pass out and do ur post grads, then its totally irrelevant. its ur post grad training that counts in ur career
