Looks like I am going to have a day free, all to myself in Chicago this labour day weekend. I have no idea where to go, what to see, and what to do. What places are MUST SEE sites?
All I know about Chicago is the movie Chicago. I'm not a fan of ER.

Mehnaz, I have been to Chicago a few times and every time I go I get to see something new. It is great that you are visiting in summer, as winters in the windy city are cruel. 1) Walk, drive by the lake shore dr. 2) shop at N. Michigan Ave. 3) watch Broadway in Chicago. 4) Tons of museums in/around downtown area.
Last time I visited the Bahai's temple & the North Western's campus, but I doubt it will interest you, or the desi place called the Devon as Toronto has million like it.

It will be a Sunday and I will only have one day. So no broadway shows for me. Is there any famous museum in Chicago? I wouldn't mind doing that on my own. I can't shop due to the exchange rate. Damn the Canadian dollar.

Museum of Contemporary Photography. I believe its free and so my friends took me there. hehe
Oh and visit the lake shore early in the morning if you can, otherwise there is a lot of rush. Well, in case you like rush it's better to go around noon. Though, I wouldn't take parents there .. If you know what I mean.
I think someone from Chicago (funguy) can tell you better.
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Welcome to Chicago!
There are a gazillion things you can do in and around Chicago. First tell me about;
What area you will be staying in?
Would you rent a car?
How many in your group?

The Bodyworlds exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry was amazing. That has to be one of the most interesting exhibits I have ever been to at a musuem. A warning though--don't go if you have a light stomach.
