A guppy kindly suggested a "portable hardrive" in another thread..

I don't know what a one of them is.

I'm guessing it goes outside your comp and you plug it in your USB or some other port???

Will my comp work if I only have a portable hardrive and totally remove my internal hardrive (to throw down the well)?

Can somebody describe one to me, how it works and, if and where I can get one in Pakistan?? I'd really appreciate an introduction.

external hard disk is attached through usb port

technically you can boot from usb drive, but your mother board bios should have that option available.

google on how to enter your bios and you can check if that option is there or not
