I'm hoping that once again the good folk of S&T can help. My mom lives 12 hours away by car and is a techno-phobe. What kind of system would be easiest for her to use? I'd love to have her learn to email and she has previous experience playing solitaire on a pc lol...

There are systems that connect to TV? so you only need a keyboard I think? Some of the new laptops are pretty nice but she needs the simplest, most easy to use or she'll get scared and pack it away in a closet.

Mama why don't you try getting her a netbook. It is basically for internet etc although can perform basic computer tasks as well. It is simple to use and basic. Does not cost much as well.
