Someone i know wants to ask the following question to all you helpful guys out there:
"i forgot my adminsitrator password and cant get access to my laptop, when asked to reset password, that's where the glitch is my CD drive no longer works, what to do???"
Can any of you delightful C&IT contributors help?

Reinstall windows in a diff folder, back up the data and rebuild the whole PC.

just get an external USB CD/DVD drive and use the system rescue CD - details here

^ ditto... or even few of the apps are available which can be installed in a USB Flash drive, and then you can boot the system through a USB flash, that can reset the password... I need to google it for you,,, but I m positive its out there on the internet.

i did it, i was typing in random passwords i've used before and somehow its worked.
