Anybody who followed cricket in Pak knows that there are two major cricket magazines in Pak
    1) cricketer (Urdu and English) One of the earliest editors was Hanif Mohammad
    2) Akhbar e Wetan (started by Karchi based Journalist and Commentrator Munir Hussain)

I always prefered cricket ( Urdu) ovar AW, purely coz of the cricketing content that it had. AW to me was full of Bull****t, coz a big part of it was used by Munir Hussain sahib to kiss ass of other people involved in cricket associations in (Mostly)
KCCA , i mean why did they have to give five page coverage to some KCCA club president doing the opening of a local cricket tournament.? Plus the Ad's that were there in AW, on average almost 65-70 % of color pages were Ad's and color pic's of cricketers in actions was and i am sure still is one of the reasons people used to buy these cricket magazines...where as cricketer had less than 10% coverage for these ad's and rest was full with stat's and cricket based information.

I am sure most of people here know about these issues and i want to know what you guys used to think about it those dayz.

yeah of course cricketer used to be much much better than AW and there was no comparison. i read both of them for almost 10 years from 1986 -1996 and cricketer was really good. AW was just for fun and msalla stuff with no depth at allll

    The Game Responds:

I never understood how Muneer Hussain kept commentating for that long; he has no cricketing sense whatsoever! He goes around trying to make his magazine more attractive to females and asking questions like "Aap ko khane mein kya pasand hai Ijaz sahab?"; that is perfectly acceptable within limits, but his whole magazine was filled with such idiocy. Really. Cricketer was better for us hardcore fans definitely. People, That Is All.

Akhbar-e-Watan was not bad but was kinda stupid. Crickter's better with more colorful pages and poster.
