Lol rainy he is a comeback kid, like many other who bud out during the 2 Ws, he did not get the attention at all for the known reasons, he is disciplined, true performer, who has a very good out-swinger to go with bowling from brain and what the situation demands, and a decent performer with the bat. Haven't seen of him much lately but his consistent domestic performance suggest he will be a force and who know will be a part of "S" to come along.

and Shivanji us ko mein kiya bolo, let her be happy with Shahid Afridi only

hmhmmm....
Life is straight as a jalebi, sweet yet...Twisted!

Shahid Nazir is highly touted people think very well of him, does very well in domestic cricket.
He has decent pace, is known as a swing bowler. I would suspect he is probably a bit slower than Rana...
P.S Rao really is'nt all that bad. People should watch the replay of the Pak vs Aus ODI (last one of VB series Round Robbin). Rao bowled very well

I remember his spell against WI in c&U final in 199.7. He picked up Lara (through an incredible catch by Moin), Adams and simmons. He knows how to reverse swing and have always been a very effective new ball bowler. Lately he has been really consistent in domestic cricket so lets see if he is able to translate this on international scene.

Hmmm,,, That Shahid Nazir ,,, I wonder why they wasted Mohd Khalil in the Test series.
If Bari had him on the original probables for the 'Test' squad and he choose to send in Khalil
instead, who was already given a chance on the Australian tour was less affective.

This gives me some fruit for thought on Bari vs Inzi-Woolmer selection conflict.

This is more of a reason that a 'touring selector' is on hand to judge the severity of the demand. PCB is hopfully working on this problem to have a full salaried person to take over this job function.

YEah remember that very well.....Infact the first impression of shahid that i had was someone who bowls awayswinging deliveries mostly he bowls alot straighter than most other away swinging bowlers of that time (Fleming and that tall NA bowler)...anyway he probaly bowled his best spell in the 2nd final at MCG where he got B lara and others out....

I am waiting to see if there is still any affectiveness left in him, personally i dont think he would be as affective as we expect, coz bowling to sub standared Domestic batsman, when he should be playing against International level players might have taken the Venom outtaa him...but i will be glad if i am proven wrong.

Where is Fazal-e-Akber BTW?

Isn't Shahid Nazir that same guy who had problems with overstepping and could not control his swing. Unless, I am confusing him with somebody else, he was probably worse than Sami in terms of bowling wides and no balls. Even if he is the same guy, I would love to see him as a better performer as we are desperately short of talent in the pacers.

This seems like a comeback season. Arshad Khan made a comeback and now Shahid Nazir is on the verge of making a comeback. Hoping for the best for the two.

That Amir Nazir guy just came out of nowhere. He got huge late swing, and *almost* got a hattrick against West Indies in a one dayer in 1992/93 but the umpire gave not out on a plumb lbw. Somehow the WI players found him very difficult to play, but he did bowl a lot of no balls.

that was his first over in international cricket in WI in 1992/1993...The first ball was a no ball, the second ball was a no ball and the third ball was a no ball too. The fourth ball was a beauty and he got his frist wicket on a late inswinger yorker..... The fifth ball was another late inswing beauty and he got his second wicket...and the next ball to Loggie was the real killer and he got his man plumb LBW but the umpire refused.....but what an entry he made...... I still remember his first over....the ball was swinging like a snake....Wasim akram spotted this guy from nets at model town club and despite stern opposition decided to take him to WI......It was wasim akram's first tour as captain....waqar younis was made the vice captain....Anyway this guy amir nazir always used to produce a lot of swing...but somehow he disappeared soon....
