Leave him alone, he may not have good English but he might be a much better person than you are. English is not everyone's first language.

And then Nottingham 's pitch...
Spinner vs. batsman.
Feel bad for SA though... but the way they played against ind... i won't bet much on Pak i say.

Time will decide who has bad luck? Pk or Sa

SA can make new history by ignoring everything ... like Australians did it by winning 1999 WC Final with a run-chase!

Pakistan have got to be worried, they have too rigid a gameplan when it comes to bowling. Open with Aamir/Razzaq, bring on spinners in the middle and then Gul for the final overs. Thats the best case scenario. If opening bowlers get a pounding, bring Gul in early. Its been that way the whole tournament and you can bet that SA will want to get Gul to come in early by pounding away at the start.

IMO Pakistan should try something different in the next game. Maybe drop Fawad Alam (or shoaib malik) and add Tanveer to the team, just so there is an additional bowler for the initial overs.

Sohail Tanvir is too erratic and wayward. He can go for plenty if it is not his day incl. wides and no balls which we can ill-afford in a SF. Younus already has 7 bowling options - Aamer, Razzaq, Ajmel, Afridi, Malik, Fawad and Umar Gul.

More than bowling the unpredictable and inconsistent batting is a worry and gives you the biggest headaches

It is going to be the same ground where South Africa played against India today. Don't know about Thursday's wicket but today's pitch was a slow turner and having Fawad Alam in the side therefore makes more sense. 150+ is a must if we bat first and I won't like us to be chasing anything more than 140. SA made just 130 today and still won the game.

I know Tanvir can slog a bit but with Fawad in the side we bat down to no. 8.

I agree Tanvir is a big risk and why play Fawad if we are not going to use him.

thnx dude..
now back to topic .
Eventhough we lost from SA in warm up matches, Pakistan is totally different team, Within 2 weeks we gain our confidence back, Umar gul firing yorkers, Ajmal making them dance, afridi always looking for wickets, and his batting form is coming back (atleast his bat found some good part of ball),Akmal stumping catching and giving us good start ... SA had to deal with none of that in earlier match. but i still think AHmad shahzad should be back in plae of FAWAD alam and razzaq and afridi should wait after yunis our batting is coming back to life ... AND INSHALLAH this time we'll be unlucky team for SA

It'll be tough but if they play together as a unit they can certainly defeat them.

Best of luck to Pakistan! Inshallah we'll win.

hmm good points. i worry about having fawad bowl his first game against SA though, tanvir has atleast had some match practice. he didnt bowl bad in the first game, in the second i think he got injured or something. kher ur right that the track is spinning if its the same as they played on yesterday, so fawad would be the better option.

i wonder why they didnt utilize him in one of the matches instead of shoaib malik.

I have serious doubts about Malik. Probably the paranoid side of the my brain got activated looking at his body language in the last few games. The way he is bowling and batting I think there is something very serious going on and it is not just a bad patch.

I was pissed off at Younis for giving him the ball just for an over during England, NZ and Ireland game. In all those instances he was expensive and broke the tempo created by other bowlers. However now I am thinking Younis wanted to make Malik feel important. Anyway I am hoping I am wrong and Malik will finally perform with his bat during the semi final. We really need him and Misbah to perform well if we want to defeat the Saffies

This is what Abdul Qadir said in the inteview after stepping down as the chief selector:

"I would've kicked Shoaib Malik out of the side totally because I noticed in Dubai that he is conspiring and forming cliques against Younis."

He is an excellent fielder apparently.

sad if it is indeed true

That explains Malik's indifferent performances lately
