no question about it. This is how they always start the series. Media fire some flairs and now we should expect some comments from current and past players of Aus

This is typical. They always attack other team's main players to bring them under pressure just before a series. I see another controversy brewing especially if Asif does well against them.

Good sign for asif and pak.
Before most series's, aussie media/ex players or coach/captain almost always make a comment or two about the player(s) from opposition they are concerned most about.

I'm an Aussie born Pakistani and i love cricket. But i always always support Pakistan over Australia any day. You know, many gora ppl also don't like the Aussie cricket team because they always try to intimidate the better players of the opposition and they feel it's not fair. It's almost cheating... like.. unko itna tang karna hai ke opposition ka dimaag kharaab ho aur voh apni game par concentrate na kar paye

Big deal someone called a drug cheat who was allowed to play despite being caught in drug abuse .. This last part in bold is what irks people..
EveN Shane Warne was caught for drug abuse but he was not shielded by auscricket board and served his time away from cricket..Has Aasif too been punished like is the norm then he too wud have redeemed himself.. but now he was let go.. too bad next time he was caught by BCCI IPL and PCB was not allowed to make excuses then..
Chasing Mirage.. By Tarek Fatah. Must read book for everyone.

ridiculous. when it comes to warne make all sorts of excuses legitimate. oh he was taking it to hide his weight problem. oh the board punished him so hes not a drug user anymore. why not then believe that Asif thought it was eastern medicine and that the PCB banned Asif for exactly the same amount of time that warne was banned.

yeah.
compare it to the respect afforded to warne, who in addition to taking illegal drugs (twice by his own admission) was also found guilty of the whole betting scandal in the 90s, and that was covered up for years by their board.

fishy, your problem that that your are jealous and thats all. You are jealous that Irfan Pathan didn't become the next Wasim Akram. Ishant Sharma is not as good as Asif which Indian media claimed when Sharma came to the international scene. We now have a left arm pacer in the form of Aamir, whereaas your left arm pacer RIP Singh is following the footsteps of Irfan Pathan.

Asif was banned form all cricket for one year which he has served. Warne was banned for the same period by ACB for a similar offence but remember Warne tested positive during a tournament (World Cup 2003) which is an even bigger offence IMO. Courtney Walsh felt that Warne was let off easy by ACB. One-year ban was not harsh enough in his opinion for such an offence. Asif was not on any official duty (but I still won't condone it) when he was caught in Dubai. So be a little fair here
