I think the title is a bit harsh and disrespectful, it should be Wife Huma Passes Away or something. Dead implies something else. As if she was killed.

Wife of Pakistan great Wasim Akram buried

LAHORE: The wife of Pakistani bowling legend Wasim Akram was laid to rest in Lahore on Monday, mourned by hundreds of people after her sudden death in India from heart and kidney complications.

Huma Akram, 42, died in Chennai on Sunday and her body brought to Pakistan’s eastern metropolis, where hundreds attended funeral prayers led by Wasim’s former team-mate Saeed Anwar.

‘Huma’s loss is great and I request my fans to pray for me so that I am able to raise my kids,’ said Wasim, who has two sons, Akbar and Taimur.

Former team-mates Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Ijaz Ahmed, Moin Khan and Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt were among the mourners.

Huma was admitted to hospital in Chennai last Tuesday after her condition deteriorated in an air ambulance while being flown from Lahore to Singapore for treatment.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani led the messages of condolence sent to Wasim.

It is actually not thread starter's but my fault for not choosing the most appropriate words for thread title and I completely agree with you here. Thanks for pointing that out. I agree passes away or dies sounds a lot better...

very very sad news indeed. I have not been able to concentrate on anything since hearing of her death yesterday.

In many ways as saddening as Nazia Hassan's death in 2000

You are welcome. I just felt bad after reading the word dead so thought I would point that out. It is a sad and shocking news. When I heard the news that she had been admitted I thought iA she will recuperate and get well soon and in no way was expecting her to pass away. I have been a bit jolted as well.

Saeed Anwar headed the Namaz-e-Janaza

Inzi and Mushraq were among other cricketers who attended.

Inzi

Mushy

Wasim Akram talked to press after that and asked everyone for Dua

Remembering Huma Akram

Such a great loss for Wasim and their two sons aged 12 and 8.

To think this person who is so confident, positive and full of life not even a few weeks ago is no more. Rest in peace Huma.

No Reservations - Wasim and Huma Akram

Wasim Akram's brother very critical of Pakistani doctors' negligence for allowing Huma to fly even though her condition was so grave
