Thinking of some games for the Gup Shup weekend and this one came to mind . . .any others than we can play with our group?

Of course, cricket and kho are already on the list . . .

Okay I think Pithoo Garum will be good, as long as the girls have no objection ...

Hey what about Gulli Dunda (can't forget our roots)

Okay first a literal translation of Pithoo gurm
Pithoo = your "BACK" (or whichever way you like to call it )
      Gurm = Hot

Now here is a rough idea of how to play:
Well I dont remember all the rules but you make two teams and one team is suppose to whip the other team members "BACKs" with the ball and they are suppose to not let that happend and do a certain thing meanwhile. If they finish in time they win that game or if you get them first you win.
Someone with more knowledge can correct me here if i am wrong.

Wait a second Trooper.... what gave you the idea that I was ABCD. I am African born, England raised, world travelling Paki with a burning desire to go back to my roots. Now is that too much to ask?? I don't have any identity crisis either. I do know what 'kababadi ' is but this pitoo garam thingy was something I had never heard of until now.

      Bhola Ji...

Thanks much for the explanantion. Do you know what this sport 'kho' is all about??

Okay here's what I know of these games: people . . jump in and correct me where I screw up . .

Pithoo (thanks for the correction) Garam:
Two teams of 5 or six players each
Played in open, level field. Undefined court shape but usually revolves closely around the centre point where the "tower" is built.
Tools: tennis ball and six stones (or other small stackable items).
One team is "builders" of the tower and the other team's objective is to "destroy". The destroyers have the tennis ball and use it to strike the tower and the builders. Game ends when either the tower is successfully completed or the builders are all "struck out".

      Kho --
Was mostly played by girls by home but we've started co-ed Kho and the guys find it just as challenging . . .
Two teams of seven players each.
One team is "it" and the other is being chased to be "touched out".
Of the seven players from the "it" team, six are seated in a crouched position, facing alternate directions in a straight line at five foot intervals from each other. One person leads and remains standing. This person is "it" and must "touch out" the members of the opposing team.
What's the twist? The person that is "it" is not permitted to cross the line of seated players while the opposing team members may cross anywhere. Person who is "it" may pass his/her role to any seated member simply by tapping on their back and yelling, "Kho!". The new chaser is off to catch while this person now takes the seated position.

I hope I got those right . . .more details can be explained when we are ready to play ..

Kamal . . . dunno any of the games you've mentioned . . .please explain . .yeh king king aur baraf paani kiya hota hai?

Reminder . .date is drawing near so those that haven't emailed me to confirm attendance and provide numbers please do so immediately!!!!!

Not one of you came back and said anything about trooper having a "whitewashed ABCD heritage" even after the "no offence . . never heard of kho" posting . . .

I think it was trooper who said that Antidote and Salman should stick to their "whitewashed abcd culture", I think that was not the right thing to say. Those comments can be very disturbing for some people specially the one who are very loyal Pakistanis.
I was born and raised in Pakistan and didn't know about 'kho' that doesn't mean i am forgetting my heritage. Some games are played in only certain parts of Pakistan and people from the other parts may not know about those games.

      Thank you fellow moderator . . .

Bhola --- I think you and I are saying the same thing in different lingo.
