Well I was talking to one of my Indian teamates the other day about this issue.
He said that the reason why India had never had a quality fast bowler is because when the coaches look for a fast bowler they look into the bowlers accuracy and line & length.
Which is the quite opposite of what Pakistani coaches look for.
They look for speed only.
Their theory is that you need speed and you don't have to worry about line & length and accuracy. As you will learn it from your experience.
While Indian coaches don't care about speeds and select the ones who are good in line & Length.

Quite obviously, your indian teammate doesn't have enough experience (or maturity for that matter) to offer a credible opinion.
India is producing medium pace seamers regularly. In my view, the success of Imran Khan, and then Wasim Akram (first alone, then with Waqar) made fast bowling a hot thing in Pakistan. At the same time, Indian media was busy presenting Tendulkar as a legend. Naturally, young players dreamt of becoming Wasim/Waqar in Pakistan, and Tendulkar in India.
This also explains why we can't produce quality batsment with sound technique and India can.

perhaps cuz they dont eat any MEAT....
u know, jaan kahaan se aaye gee
Both Halal & Haram r evident but between them r doubtful things, most ppl have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from suspicious things saves his religion & honor, & whoever indulges in suspicious things indulges in Haram.

As the anagram of Vegetarian is 'Irate vegan', just look for calm and collected Indian players. Those that are, are obviously not vegeterians.

For the same reason Pakistan can't produce reliable batsmen

I agree w/ u about role model (Imran Khan ) influence… But just like India, Sirilanka and Bangladesh are having the same problem…I think genuine fast bowlers are born…w/ some kind of special gene ..May be like FOXP2??Originally posted by *Zaalim:

The ability to bowl fast can not be established by will…by just following role model…It’s a rare talent..and ppl like Waqar ,Shoiab, Zahid are born w/ it..Thousands on Pakistani boys tries to bowl fast but very few succeed.
I read one interview by Denis Lilliee --while he was coaching at MRF academy.. He told reporter that he can’t do miracles…genuine fast bowlers are born w/ the talent…they can’t be created…For India, genuine fast bolwers are like holy grill..the will keep on searching for it
I think Sirinath was the only Indian bowler w/ genuine quick pace... he is still better than any other Indian bowler.

Pakistani batsmen are generally unreliable, but Inzi and Youhana are world class, Inzi is the 2nd best in Asia after SRT. However India have NEVER had a great pace bowler-even Kapil was jhust average-his bowling average is like 29-hardly *wow*.
His 434 wickets came in 132 games, not overly impressive.

This question was asked to Imran khan.he was like this issue will be one of the biggest mystery why india the cricket crazy nation coulnt produce fast bowlers but the closest reasonnig he came up with was about the role models whichalready has been discussed here.Pakistan produced World clas fast bowlers whereas Indians produced great legendry batsmen!
Do you guys really think role models would make that much difference?come on with a poppulation of 1 billion and growing they still cant have one genuine fast bowler? You will find alot of indians having wasim akram and Imran khan as their role models.
Maybe ISI is involved in depriving india of having a fast bowler
Imran khan was right..it will be a mystery..You iwll ifnd alot of theories but there is no clear cut answer..

Actually Imran Khan made a really good statement in Sharjah Cup 2000 final against South Africa.
"India with the population of 7 times more than Pakistan haven't been able to produce a genuine fast bowler ever."
I couldn't agree more!
Is it possible under the rules of ICC that Pakistan or Bangladesh can give one of their fast bowlers to India.
To make the competition more competitve.
visitors found this page by using these recent terms:
whh india dont produce any fast bowler,
why india is not able to produce genuine pace bowlers,
why india dont produce fast bowlers,
1 billion and no fast bowler,
1 billion population and no fast bowler,
why dont india produce fast bowlers,
why cant Pakistan produced quality batsman,
Sirinath indian fast bowler
